Ole Smoky Distillery and Yee-Haw Brewing Co. Set May Opening at Broadway at the Beach
The joint 30,000-square-foot venue will bring moonshine flights, craft beer, lakeside outdoor seating, guided distillery tours, and a live-event program to Myrtle Beach’s premier entertainment complex.
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Ole Smoky Distillery and Yee-Haw Brewing Co. have confirmed a May 2026 grand opening at Broadway at the Beach, marking the first joint location for both Tennessee-based brands outside their home state and the first Ole Smoky Distillery in South Carolina.
Will Ensign, Ole Smoky’s vice president of marketing, confirmed the opening timeline and described the new venue as a premier entertainment destination. The property will occupy a lakefront position within Broadway at the Beach’s complex off U.S. Highway 17 Bypass, featuring multiple bars, an indoor-outdoor beer garden, and patio seating overlooking the lake. A large-format television screen — described as one of the biggest in the area — will anchor the main gathering space alongside tasting rooms and guided distillery tours.
Ensign indicated the venue aims to become Myrtle Beach’s go-to destination for live music, good food, and craft beverages, with event spaces and private rooms built into the property’s design for concerts, festivals, and private gatherings. The overall atmosphere has been described by the brand as family-friendly, with a mix of indoor and outdoor gathering spaces suited to guests of all ages.
Guests can expect Ole Smoky moonshine and whiskey flights alongside craft beers from Yee-Haw Brewing Co., which currently operates taprooms across Tennessee and in Greenville, South Carolina. The Myrtle Beach location will be Yee-Haw’s second South Carolina outpost. A menu of shareable food options will round out the beverage program.
The Myrtle Beach project replicates the concept established at the brands’ 6th and Peabody campus in Nashville — their only other shared location. Construction is being led by Monteith Construction, a locally based firm, with LSP3 serving as lead architect. The 30,000-square-foot property draws on the heritage of each brand while incorporating design elements suited to the waterfront site.
April Martin, Senior Vice President of Leasing and Design at Burroughs and Chapin — the real estate investment trust that owns and operates Broadway at the Beach — described the addition as a strong complement to the existing entertainment landscape, noting that the combination of craft beverages and live programming fills a distinct gap in what South Carolina’s most-visited tourist destination currently offers locals and visitors.
Joe Baker, founder of both Ole Smoky Distillery and Yee-Haw Brewing Co., pointed to Myrtle Beach’s reputation for world-class entertainment and its visitors’ enthusiasm for quality beverages as the primary drivers behind the location decision. Baker expressed confidence that the brands’ traditions and craft would resonate strongly with the Grand Strand market.
Ole Smoky Distillery was founded in 2010 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, becoming the first federally licensed distillery in the state’s history. The company currently operates four Tennessee locations and is recognized as the leading producer of premium moonshine in the United States. An exact opening date for the Myrtle Beach venue has not yet been announced; the brand has confirmed May 2026 as the target month.
The Grand Strand — stretching from Cherry Grove Beach in North Myrtle Beach through Ocean Drive, Crescent Beach, and Windy Hill to Myrtle Beach proper — draws an estimated 14 million visitors annually. The Ole Smoky and Yee-Haw opening adds a nationally recognized craft beverage brand to an area already anchored by Ripley’s Aquarium, Broadway at the Beach’s existing dining and retail complex, and a robust live entertainment calendar.
