Run to the Sun Car and Truck Show Returns to Myrtle Beach for 37th Year
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The largest independent classic car show on the East Coast is returning to the Grand Strand this week, as the Run to the Sun Car and Truck Show prepares to open its doors for the 37th consecutive year.
The three-day event runs March 19–21, 2026, at the Old Myrtle Square Mall in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, drawing enthusiasts from across the country to one of the region’s most enduring automotive traditions.
Record-Breaking Scale on 56 Acres
This year’s show is expected to feature more than 3,500 pre-1989 vehicles, 150 vendors, and upward of 10,000 spectators spread across 56 acres of the Grand Strand’s largest open-air automotive event. Registered vehicles represent owners from more than 28 states, reflecting the national reach the show has built over nearly four decades.
“We are looking forward to welcoming classic car enthusiasts from over 28 states right here in Myrtle Beach,” said Michael Leaventon, show owner and manager. “We will once again offer winner plaques presented by our staff, partners, and sponsors.”
Charitable Giving at the Core
Beyond the chrome and horsepower, Run to the Sun has established itself as one of the Grand Strand’s most significant annual charitable fundraising events. Over 37 years, the show has donated more than $2.3 million to local and national organizations — including $175,000 in the last four years alone.
This year’s charitable partners include:
- National Multiple Sclerosis Society — beneficiary of a charity silent auction with 100% of proceeds donated directly to the society
- Children’s Miracle Network at McLeod Children’s Hospital — beneficiary of a 50/50 raffle held during the event
- Horry County Sheriff’s Department Benevolent Fund
- Grand Strand Miracle League
- Florence Miracle League
- Carolina Forest High School NJROTC Booster Club
- Boys and Girls Club of Grand Strand
