St. Patrick’s Day is one of the most festive days of the year in North Myrtle Beach – full of parades, parties, and lots of green and shamrock things!

This year, the historic holiday falls on a Tuesday, and the celebratory festivities will take place just a few days before on Saturday, March 14. This means it’s the perfect time to plan your mid-March trip to North Myrtle Beach for an Irish party here on the coast.

North Myrtle Beach is the place to be for celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, from the classic parade to Irish pubs that really know how to throw a party and embrace the culture of Erin go Bragh.

The 32nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade will be held rain or shine along Main Street. Each year, the parade brings about 40,000 people to the center of North Myrtle Beach to celebrate Irish history and welcome the spring season. The family-friendly parade includes over 100 vendors and organizations displaying artistic creations   and inspiring floats. Afterward, enjoy a full day of festivities including live music, children’s activities, vendor booths, rides, and amusements.

The Southeast Coast isn’t known for white Christmases or freezing and rainy climates, but we certainly see our fair share of cold temperatures in North Myrtle Beach. Although there are plenty of warm days in the winter months, it’s always nice to hang up the coats for good in anticipation of the March equinox.

In addition to observing more daylight, springtime in North Myrtle Beach brings bright sunshine, perfect temperatures, and warm water to our ocean shores. Fall is better in North Myrtle Beach! Far from ordinary,North Myrtle Beach beckons with its thoroughly small beach town appeal. Stretching over nine miles of pristine white sand beaches, with clear blue ocean and whispering waves, North Myrtle Beach remains one of the most appreciated shiny pearls of the Grand Strand.

Fall is the time when nature makes up for the hot, seemingly endless, summer. Winter is the season of the snowbirds, chased down here by the cold up north. While spring is many people’s favorite season, parents and school-aged kids anxiously await the summer. However, blink and you just may miss our incredible, more-beach-per-person fall.

Maybe not as visible as some northern states, changes during fall are anything but subtle in North Myrtle Beach. From trees changing colors to temperatures fluctuating, you also will hear the sound of the many festivals. Fall is a busy time for outdoor concerts, great food, daring shows and everything in between.

Here are just five reasons to book with Thomas Beach Vacations and spend memorable moments in North Myrtle Beach this fall:

The weather is beautiful

Fall months are normally mild and sunny in the North Myrtle Beach area with high temperatures in the 70s. The average air temperature is around 77; the average water temperature is around 72. This perfect weather is wonderful for outdoor activities such as festivals, fishing, golfing, and much more! You should certainly pack a sweater for the chilly evenings, but you’ll find the tides are generally low and the beaches inviting. Stroll along the beaches of North Myrtle Beach with unspoiled views of sand and seaand the early morning and sunset light are downright magical.

Pack lots of fun into long weekends

North Myrtle Beach, was once considered the birth place of the Shag dance, and its still considered the SOS (Society of Stranders) capital of fun. Strains of beach music can be heard in North Myrtle Beach nearly every night, as those who love the Shag dance the night away.

Golfing is very popular in North Myrtle Beach in this milder season, too. Thomas Golf Vacations, as a Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday member and through special arrangements with area courses, has fantastic golf deals to get you the most bang for your bucks. Take advantage of our excellent multi-round deals. You’re often able to play some top-tier golf courses and enjoy BIG SAVINGS off single-round rates.
Enjoy the thrilling castle-based dinner theater show at Medieval Times, while following a plot involving royals and knights, rousing jousts, clanging weapons, and a villain from a rival kingdom. Dont miss Alabama Theatre’s One-The Show, which delivers an exciting level of entertainment–the likes seen only in New York or Vegas! Catch an off-Broadway-style performance at the Alabama Theater or a national touring act in concert at the House of Blues. Looking for an adventure? Check out Pirates Voyage Dinner Theater for swash-buckling entertainment! Find yourself face to face with nature’s fiercest and most beautiful animals at Alligator Adventure, one of the largest facilities for reptile life in the world.

Savor a True Culinary Delight

You could spend a long weekend just trolling the eateries and watering holes here. But throw in the fine dining and the wow factor is even higher. Tis the season for pumpkin spiced lattes and chunky sweaters, when hungry palates cant wait to savor the flavors and warmth of the seasons main ingredients. From fresh, local seafood to mouth-watering steaks, the restaurants in the North Myrtle Beach area have options to please even the pickiest of eaters.

Southern cooking is a staple for North Myrtle Beach diners, where classic local dishes like Chicken Bog, Shrimp and Gritts or Frogmore Stew are on many menus. Start that diet now if you must. But come fall, all bets are off in North Myrtle Beach.
