Breeze Airways to Add 11 Myrtle Beach Routes in 2027, Becoming the Airport’s Largest Carrier

Boston, Buffalo, Latrobe and eight more cities join Breeze’s Myrtle Beach map in 2027, nearly doubling the airline’s nonstop destinations at MYR to 25 and positioning it as the airport’s largest carrier.
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Breeze Airways will add 11 nonstop routes at Myrtle Beach International Airport in 2027, the airline announced Tuesday, in an expansion that nearly doubles its destinations from the Grand Strand to 25 and, by the company’s projection, makes it the airport’s largest carrier by seats and destinations in the second quarter of next year.
The new cities are Albany, Stewart/Newburgh and Syracuse in New York; Boston; Buffalo; Burlington, Vermont; Columbus, Ohio; Latrobe, Pennsylvania; New Haven, Connecticut; Portland, Maine; and Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Boston will see daily service beginning May 4, 2027. Latrobe is the first to launch, on February 9, and Buffalo the last, on July 1. The remaining routes begin in late May, according to Breeze and reporting by The Post and Courier and MyHorryNews.
All 11 routes went on sale Tuesday with promotional one-way fares starting at $49 from Latrobe, $59 from Buffalo, Columbus, New Haven and Stewart/Newburgh, $69 from Albany and Syracuse, and $79 from Boston, Burlington, Portland and Portsmouth. The promotional fares apply only to select dates.
A 70 Percent Jump in Seats
Breeze began flying to Myrtle Beach in February 2024 with a single route and has more than doubled its seats, routes and passengers at the airport over the past year. The airline said the 2027 schedule will increase its Myrtle Beach capacity by about 70 percent over 2026. Breeze is projected to pass Allegiant Air as the airport’s top carrier by routes in the second quarter of 2027, The Post and Courier reported.
The Myrtle Beach routes are the centerpiece of a broader Breeze expansion that adds four new cities and 22 routes across the airline’s network. Boston, Buffalo and Latrobe are new to Breeze’s system entirely, while the other eight cities are already on the airline’s map and are being linked to Myrtle Beach for the first time or upgraded. Portland, Maine, for example, has been served from Myrtle Beach only as a one-stop, no-plane-change flight and becomes a nonstop in 2027.
Breeze founder and CEO David Neeleman said every new route starts with asking where nonstop service would add convenience that travelers lack, and that in Myrtle Beach the easier question was where the airline could not fly. Lukas Johnson, the airline’s chief commercial officer, said Breeze is excited to become the largest carrier at MYR by seats and destinations, and that the market lost a large number of seats when Spirit Airlines ceased operations earlier this year, which Breeze is working to backfill.
Airport and Tourism Leaders Welcome the Routes
Judi Olmstead, Horry County’s director of airports, called the announcement a huge moment for the airport and the community it serves, pointing to the return of Boston and Latrobe service alongside nine other cities. Stuart Butler, president of Visit Myrtle Beach, said the new nonstop routes make it easier for visitors to reach the area’s beaches while giving residents more options for their own travel, and that Breeze’s investment supports the local economy.
Myrtle Beach International Airport handles roughly 3.5 million passengers a year following a major terminal expansion completed in 2024. The airport sits at the southern end of Myrtle Beach, about a half-hour to 40-minute drive from North Myrtle Beach.
