Independence Day

INDEPENDENCE DAY, JULY 4th
Also referred to as the Fourth of July or July 4th, Independence Day is a national holiday commemorating the Declaration of Independence of the United States on July 4th, 1776. The newly established Congress actually voted to declare independence from England on July 2nd, but it wasn’t formally declared until two days later.

Fireworks play a major role in the celebration. Locally, grand fireworks displays are scheduled for 10 PM at both Barefoot Landing and Broadway at the Beach. The main event in North Myrtle Beach is the annual fireworks extravaganza scheduled to begin at 9:30 PM off the Cherry Grove Pier. Grab your beach chair or blanket and head to the beach in Cherry Grove for an up-close viewing.
