Barefoot Landing will open its holiday season on Saturday, November 21, 2026, with a 6 p.m. holiday program, a 7 p.m. tree lighting, fireworks and visits with Santa until 8 p.m. Admission is free.

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — The holiday season officially arrives at Barefoot Landing the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Lighting of the Landing is scheduled for November 21, 2026, at Barefoot Landing, 4898 Highway 17 South, according to Destination North Myrtle Beach, and admission is free.

The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a holiday program of seasonal entertainment and family activities. Barefoot Landing’s events calendar places the program at the Pepsi Stage in the Dockside Village area. The Christmas tree is scheduled to be lit at 7 p.m., followed by fireworks, and Santa will visit with children until 8 p.m.

An Annual Kickoff by the Water

The event is Barefoot Landing’s yearly start to the holidays on the Intracoastal Waterway. In 2024, the celebration featured a live tree about 25 feet tall and fireworks over the lake, according to Barefoot Landing’s announcements and local coverage. Destination North Myrtle Beach encourages guests to make an evening of it with holiday shopping and dinner at the complex.

A Busy Holiday Weekend

Lighting of the Landing shares its evening with the city’s Dashing Through the Glow, a 2-mile walk and run through The Great Christmas Light Show that starts at 7 p.m. on both November 20 and 21. Because the Saturday times overlap, families hoping to do both should register for the Friday run. Next door, the Alabama Theatre stages its holiday show through the season.

Rentals in Cherry Grove, Ocean Drive, Crescent Beach and Windy Hill put Barefoot Landing within a short drive, with Windy Hill the closest. Our full guide to Lighting of the Landing 2026 covers parking, dining and the rest of the holiday calendar.
