Long Bay Theatre Opens Its New 200-Seat Home in Downtown Myrtle Beach With Mary Poppins

Myrtle Beach, S.C. · October 12, 2026 · By Thomas Beach Vacations

Long Bay Theatre has opened its new 200-seat venue at 728 Main Street in downtown Myrtle Beach, doubling the size of its audience, and is christening the larger stage with Mary Poppins through October 25.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Downtown Myrtle Beach has a new place to see a show. Long Bay Theatre opened its new venue on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, with the family musical Mary Poppins, WPDE reported. The new theater seats 200 people, twice the audience of the company’s previous location, and gives performers a larger stage.

WPDE reported that the theater is the first to open in downtown Myrtle Beach’s arts district, and that it sits across the street from a planned performing arts center that Coastal Carolina University and the City of Myrtle Beach are developing together. Crews were still finishing construction and painting in the days before opening night.

Mary Poppins Runs Through Oct. 25

Mary Poppins continues through Sunday, October 25, with evening performances at 7 p.m. and 2 p.m. matinees on select days, according to the theater’s website. Tickets are $46 for VIP seats in the first two rows, $36 for general admission, $34 for seniors 60 and older, military and veterans, $28 for students and $22 for children 12 and under. The theater does not admit toddlers or infants, and seating is first come, first served.

Tickets are sold online through the theater’s ThunderTix page, linked from longbaytheatre.com, and by phone at the box office, (843) 999-6574, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Built With Community Donations

According to WPDE, the move was paid for through community donations to a capital campaign with a goal of $1 million. The theater is still accepting gifts to that campaign and to its Center Stage Fund, which supports future productions.
