New Waterfront Restaurant Opens in Murrells Inlet With All-Day Happy Hour

A new waterfront restaurant has opened along the marsh in Murrells Inlet, bringing a pirate-themed dining experience, casual seafood, live music, and an all-day happy hour to one of the Grand Strand’s most popular coastal destinations.

Inlet Shipwreck Bar & Grill began serving customers on February 25, 2026, at 4139 U.S. 17 Business in Murrells Inlet. The restaurant occupies the building previously used by Sloppy Jose’s Cantina, which had opened in 2024 before closing earlier this year.

The new concept focuses on the kind of food and relaxed atmosphere visitors expect along the Murrells Inlet waterfront, where marsh views, seafood restaurants, and live music venues have long attracted locals and vacationers.

A New Dining Concept on the Murrells Inlet Waterfront

The new restaurant replaces Sloppy Jose’s Cantina, a Mexican and Caribbean-style restaurant that operated for about a year at the location. Owners decided to introduce a new concept better suited to the tastes of visitors exploring the Murrells Inlet waterfront.

Inlet Shipwreck Bar & Grill now offers a casual coastal menu and a pirate-themed environment designed to match the maritime character of the inlet. The restaurant also shares proximity with other well-known Murrells Inlet dining destinations, including Wicked Tuna.

Murrells Inlet is just a short drive south of the main Grand Strand vacation areas. Visitors exploring the region often combine waterfront dining with a day of attractions and activities throughout the area. The restaurant’s menu focuses on approachable coastal dishes and comfort food favorites. Early menu offerings include seafood platters, salads, burgers, sandwiches, barbecue ribs, pork chop entrées, and other casual dining staples.

While the menu is currently limited during the restaurant’s initial opening period, additional items are expected to be added as the restaurant expands operations.

A Pirate-Themed Atmosphere

One of the most distinctive features of the restaurant is its pirate-themed atmosphere. The property already includes a pirate ship playground, creating a family-friendly environment where children can play while adults enjoy views of the marsh.

A brightly painted vintage truck placed near the entrance adds to the colorful character of the restaurant and serves as a visual landmark for visitors arriving along the Murrells Inlet waterfront.

All-Day Happy Hour and Live Music

Inlet Shipwreck Bar & Grill also features an all-day happy hour with discounted drinks, including beer, wine, and a signature Pirate Punch cocktail made with multiple rum blends and tropical flavors.

Live music performances are also part of the restaurant’s entertainment lineup, adding to the lively atmosphere that Murrells Inlet has become known for.

Murrells Inlet Continues to Grow as a Dining Destination

Often referred to as the “Seafood Capital of South Carolina,” Murrells Inlet has developed a reputation for waterfront restaurants, fishing culture, and scenic marsh views.

New additions like Inlet Shipwreck Bar & Grill contribute to the evolving dining scene while continuing the tradition of relaxed coastal hospitality that draws visitors to the inlet each year.
