New High-Thrill Roller Coaster Announced for Myrtle Beach’s Family Kingdom
A major new attraction has been confirmed for one of Myrtle Beach’s most well-known oceanfront landmarks. Family Kingdom Amusement Park, the long-standing seaside park located along 4th Avenue South, has revealed plans to introduce a new roller coaster scheduled to open in the summer of 2026.
The addition marks a significant expansion for the park, which already offers more than 35 classic and modern rides, including the famous “Swamp Fox” wooden coaster that has defined the skyline for decades. The upcoming project will bring an entirely different style of thrills to the Grand Strand.
The new attraction will be a single-rail roller coaster engineered by Rocky Mountain Construction, a manufacturer known for its innovative track design. Standing over 100 feet tall, the ride will use the company’s narrow-track system that positions riders in single-seat cars with open air on both sides. This design allows for sharp transitions, rapid maneuvers, and inversions that can reach speeds common to RMC’s “Raptor” class of coasters.
Family Kingdom confirmed the arrival of the new coaster earlier this week. While the park has yet to release an official name or additional details, the project already has locals and visitors excited for the next evolution of Myrtle Beach’s oceanfront amusement offerings.
Thomas Beach Vacations will continue to follow updates as the park moves forward with construction. For families planning a 2026 beach getaway, this new attraction adds one more reason to choose North Myrtle Beach for a summer escape.
