NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – October 20, 2025 — The City of North Myrtle Beach has officially concluded its seasonal short-term rental trash collection program for the year. The expanded collection schedule, which ran from May 1 through October 17, 2025, provided additional service days to accommodate the city’s busy summer rental season.
With the program now ended, trash pickup for short-term rental properties has returned to regular collection schedules. Recycling services will continue as usual, but only on designated weekly pickup days.
The seasonal collection schedule is designed to handle the increased waste volume generated by summer vacationers. From late spring through early fall, trash was collected not only on regular pickup days but also on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays to ensure properties remained clean and guest-ready throughout the high tourism months.
City officials encourage property managers and residents to:
- Review and follow their standard weekly trash and recycling pickup days.
- Keep all waste secured inside approved containers to prevent wind scatter or animal interference.
- Avoid placing bins in locations that block sidewalks or pedestrian pathways.
