MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

What we’re looking for

The maintenance technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures, in addition to performing grounds maintenance. The Maintenance Technician undertakes the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of premises. Performs diversified maintenance tasks of great variety such as minor painting, minor plumbing repairs, troubleshooting appliances and HVAC systems, and maintain repairs according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the organizations business goals and objectives. A Maintenance Technician is a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines.

 

Duties and responsibilities (Essential functions)

  • Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as necessary.
  • Implement preventative maintenance measures.
  • Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
  • Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

 

Other duties and responsibilities (Incidental functions)

  • Ensure amenities are safe and attractive for owners and guests.
  • Utilize effective written and oral communication skills; maintaining good documentation with concise notes.
  • Interact with owners, guests and management at all levels.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills, general knowledge of household and facilities maintenance, including minor plumbing and electrical work (clearing drains, replacing light bulbs).
  • Practice exceptional quality and customer service.
  • Perform all other duties as required.

Job Type: Full time position.

 

Knowledge, skills & abilities

  • Work effectively with all personality types. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess modern technology skills, sound computer skills including Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, etc.
  • Understand and carry out verbal & written instructions independently.
  • Work weekends, holidays, mornings, and nights.
  • Perform light physical tasks, exerting up to 50 lbs. of force on a frequent basis and up to 75 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Work well with minimal supervision.
  • Perform such activities as grasping, lifting, reaching, crouching, walking, sitting, and carry repetitively and for long periods of time.
  • Prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures.
  • Perform well under pressure, follow directions, communicate.

 

Schedule

8 hour shift ; Weekend availability

 

Ability to commute/relocate

North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582:

Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required).

 

Experience

Acquired a minimum of one year of experience in maintenance. High school diploma/GED required.

 

License/Certification:

Valid Driver’s License (Required).
